Charity of the Month

Shop small, give back, build better.

Each month Rockingham Repair will choose a new charity to donate a portion of proceeds towards. Usually, these are local chapters and/or groups that are close to staff members. Each month a new charity will be announced with a small foreword to explain the group, provide direct links, and why we chose it that month. All orders made through our website will go towards that months donations, with a smaller portion of etsy orders and repair money going towards that months charity.

Ash's Cancer Recovery

Hey all, to kick off the charity of the month we chose to help a person close to the RR team.

Growing up I had a close relationship with my cousins, living in a suburban Massachusetts town with little money meant I lived with them, my grandparents, and my aunt and uncle; full house. My two older cousins, Ash and Britt, arguably got me into video games the most, giving me a collection of games, pokemon cards, and action figures to accompany my new GBA. In part I think it was to get me to annoy them less when they played Spyro or Guitar Hero, but I like to imagine it was an endearing gesture. Whatever it was, it kick started a love of video games that has led me where I am today.

In the time since then I unfortunately had to stand by Ash's side as they fought through a bout of pancreatic cancer. At the time, they were still close to home, meaning they had a strong support system to help them through their fight. Fast forward a few years and it seems that Ash's cancer is back, and unfortunately they're on the opposite side of the country and without the support they had in 2016. Facing an invasive surgery, a lengthy recovery process, and all the fun that goes with cancer it has become quite apparent that my cousin is in desperate need of financial aid.

So, Rockingham Repair is moving to not only include them as the charity of the month, from which 5% of all sales will go towards the recovery process, but we're also going to go through their entire video game collection; Restoring, repairing, managing, and shipping their collection so they have their games through the recovery process. All funds made off the views of these videos will also go towards the GoFundMe.
